NOW YOU ARE IN BUSINESS
Now that you have decided on a business structure TAG will guide you in the decision of fixing a year end date, if incorporated, and the setup of all relevant Federal and provincial tax accounts, provincial Workers Compensation Accounts, refer you to lenders, insurance brokers, and assist you in making the systematic decisions for money and record management.
We can train you in Sage, QuickBooks and other online programs, or help you utilize your excel skills to provide the CRA your financial information in a format they require. We will also assist in setting up the type of reporting and data analysis you will need to effectively manage your business. Organization and setup will save you money in the future if your records are kept well organized with all relevant banking and bookkeeping data.
BOOKKEEPING & PAYROLL
TAG bookkeeping services range from providing daily - weekly - monthly or annually data entry. The Client has the flexibility to have on-site, drop off, pick up ,digital transmission or collaborative service and support. Payroll services are offered as required and for smaller businesses we offer the convenience of text or call in payroll. Annual reporting to CRA for T4, T4A's and T5018 is a breeze. Records of employment and employment standard issues will be handled for you by our knowledgeable staff. Our bookkeepers provide extensive reporting analysis based on the clients needs (and some they don't realize they need). Annual budget targets can also be incorporated.
CASH FLOW &
AP CHEQUE SERVICES
TAG provides daily, weekly, monthly and annual cash flow analysis and review. This is particularly important in low margin businesses (i.e. restaurants, liquor stores) and in start-ups, or low financed businesses who must rely on incoming funds to stay on top of the bills. We will ensure that your credit card processing deposits are reconciled and we will also manage the accounts payable schedule and process cheque runs, and EFTs according to the agreed payment schedules.
GST, HST & PST
TAG will file the required filings for all sales taxes and make sure all self-reported tax is accounted for. Many businesses working inter-provincially and internationally are not aware of each provinces self assessment rules for GST, HST, PST. We want you to maximize your ITC rates and leave nothing on the table.
NOW THAT ITS YOUR FINANCIAL YEAR END
TAG will now assist you in preparing and filing all your relevant tax returns. It is our job to help you minimize taxes by providing financial statements that meet the ITA but ensure that you have claimed what you are entitled to. You will receive financial statements, year end adjustments, an adjusted trial balance and your relevant provincial returns with your federal corporate tax return and a list of installments payments required for the next taxation year. During the year TAG will keep you up to date in changes that may be required or beneficial to keep your tax rate lowest and maintain any advantage you have by saving tax dollars. If you own a US based corporation or partnership we will produce and file the appropriate filings.
SRED ITC CLAIMS
Canada and the provinces have made a financial commitment to advancing technology through new research, process improvement and systematic discovery. Each respective government will upon approval provide tax credits for reimbursement of qualifying work. This tax credit may be used against taxes owing or can be refunded back to assist with further development.
The process requires a technical paper discussing the advancements of your projects, goals, uncertainties and work accomplished during the fiscal year. If technical is approved, the credits will be applied. This program has strict deadlines and missing them by a day means that year's addition to cash flow has gone forever.
TAG has experts who have been providing SRED for over 25 years, and worked with the CRA in developing project management software specifically for SR&ED filings. Let us document your technical projects and processes and file your claims to ensure that you do not miss out. Filing deadline is 18 months after your last fiscal year.
The federal government will provide an ITC for eligible apprentices who are completing their apprentice programs in any Red Seal Trade to a maximum of $2,000 per employee per year.
